Cullen

From Edinburgh we visited friends in Cullen but popped in to have a look at Craigievar Castle on the way.

.

Cullen is a picturesque coastal town whose heart, the fishing industry, has be ripped out. Seatown is the district, nearest the almost deserted harbour, where former fisherman's cottages neatly huddle together.

.

Barry was our guide on a couple of coastal walks from Portsoy to Portknochie. The walks were full of interest from deserted castles to French WW2 hermits and pet's cemeteries but it was the rock formations that made the biggest impression on me.

To saturate or desaturate that is the question?

There are many signs to the Bow Fiddle Rock.

There are no signs to the pet's cemetery which was the work of one man.

To continue the rocky theme, here are a couple of shots taken during a walk to Allport Castles, above the Ladybower reservoir just outside Sheffield.
