After flicking through a Freeman Paterson book I was motivated to take some photos and drove along Mortimer Road where the moor is on one side and the woods on the other.

Having developed a taste for abstract, extreme telephoto moorland views, I set off again along Mortimer Road. I had to divert on to Sugworth Road because of road works but rejoined MR heading for Strines Inn.

Win Hill's trig point is caught in the sunlight and Boot's folly stands proud against the distant moor.
