Cannon Hall

It was a "bight sun shiny day" which means Infra Red photography to me. I wanted to go somewhere with noble trees and water plants so headed for Barnsley's stateliest home.

.

The Dimage 7 was rather found wanting with respect to sharpness as most of the images were quite complex i.e. lots of leaves. The parkland is very attractive but not large enough to isolate me from the numerous barking dogs and screaming children that were also out in the sun shine.

.

The infra red seems to inhibit polarized light and reduce the reflections from the water's surface while emphasizing the plant reflections in an almost three dimensional way. (It's worth double clicking on the image to get an enlarged view).

.

There is a heron somewhere in the middle distance but you will have to take my word for it.

.

Of the many fine Oak and Elm trees in the park I was attracted to this fine specimen and was moved to reach for the fish-eye adapter.
