Woodhead and Padley

Graham and I set off for the hills and ended up at my favorite stream at Woodhead.

The little valley has a sense of ancient woodland and judging by the number of dead camp fires and lager cans littered about, it is a popular spot.

Graham got talking to a photographer who was already there and was shown pictures of a waterfall further up in the hills. However the directions were vague and we chose paths wrongly so that we felt all of our combined 140 years as we trudged across the heathery moor.

Other walkers eventually pointed us in the right direction, although once we had found it I was too knackered to enjoy it fully and my images do not do it justice. I must return.

The following day we journeyed to Padley Gorge but failed to find inspiration until we spotted a small group of rocks.
