Happy days

It has been a while since my last blog but my sap is failing to rise. However a birthday trip to Bradford (to view a Tony Ray Jones and Martin Parr exhibition) was preceded by a Lebanese meal in Huddersfield. The restaurant was adjacent to the impressive Byram Arcade.

There was a fun display of paper birds in the atrium.

The National Media Museum in Bradford has a few surprising colourful spaces

A recent trip to Suffolk included a trip to the loveliness and quirkiness of Lavenham. We were informed and entertained by an ancient custodian of the Little Hall museum who told us how Lavenham avoided having their electricity piped in above ground and how the airman stationed nearby during the war raised the town's fortunes.

The DeVere family, we were told, were mates of the king and secured a market charter for Lavenham. Herring bone brick, rather than wattle and daub, seems to confrirm the status of DeVere House.

Trips to Doddington and Low Marnham churches were satisfying.
