Little Ouseburn

We were in and around York yesterday, to celebrate Lucy's birthday, and made a point of driving to Little Ouseburn, with its lovely church (Holy Trinity) near the bridge over the burn.

Needless to say, no tripod was used in any of these shots. Pity.

.

Both church and rotunda were damaged by a crashing Halifax bomber in 1945.

Then on to Saint Giles, Skelton. An Early English gem but heavily restored in Victorian times. It was all a bit too crisp.

.

Finally to Holy Trinity in Goodramgate, York. A conserved church with fine box pews.
