Cressbrook

The village of Cressbrook is clustered round the mill, which was rebuilt by Richard Arkwright Jnr in 1787 following a fire. Parts of the turbine are still in situ and the nearby pond provides peaceful reflection.

David Hey's "A history of the South Yorkshire Countryside" alerted me to the Norman churches at Campsall, with its many arched tower and Burghwallis with its exuberant herringbone stonework. Both worth the trip even though they were closed.
