I have intended to visit Strutt's Mills in Belper for over half a century and, thanks to a lift from Mike, I was able to get there today.
The North Mill (1784 but rebuilt in 1803) is the earliest but the East Mill (1913) is massive and makes a very strong impression. Similarly the power of the River Derwent at that point was impressive.
