Every inch of the walls is covered with memorials to the Georgian great and good and it is hard to image what an important centre for society Bath must have been to give rise to this need to be acknowledged by one's peers.

After all this excess it was refreshing to enjoy some genteel dereliction in the Walcot district where there was a stimulating mix of high class interior design shops and faded antique emporia.

Old factories are being converted in to smart new offices but it was good to see that the original iron railings had been retained as, to me, these are as significant as the Bath stone buildings in epitomising this elegant city.

By happy accident Graham and I came across an exhibiton by local photographers. They were a group of friends and enthusiasts who had succeeded in finding an alternative to the dreaded camera club. This could be a model to follow.
