Wanting to explore the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Brian and I headed fir Diggle, which is the other end of the Stanage Tunnels from Marsden.

After walking for about a hundred yards we adjourned to a canal-side cafe and enjoyed the pretty waitress and the date and walnut cake. Nearby I found a pile of tyres and rusty old fire escape.

The canal descends sharply down an impressive flight of locks

.
Road bridges added a bit of variety, especially when the sun reflected off the water.

.
It is hard for me to resist canal-side reflections
.
After a lamb and mint pudding lunch, at the Diggle Hotel, we explored Old Diggle; with weavers' cottages and a romantic level of dereliction.
