Malaga

We plan to spend more time in Spain but we chose a wet day to visit Malaga. Catherdral visiting is a good option in the rain but we found it was closed to visitors while a  funeral was taking place.

.

I wasn't too disappointed as I find Spanish churches, religious processions etc. a bit OTT for my Protestant sensibilities. However, as usual we chose to visit (in the middle of the day), when all the churches and museums were closed, so this wasn't a problem.

.

We were able to nip in to the Flamenco Museum just before it closed. It had a display of historic gramophones but amazingly no music. In fact the stillness of the museum seemed at complete odds with the noise and passions of Flamenco.

The other attraction, that we found open, was an art gallery housed in a converted Moorish palace.

This scene had echos of Walker Evans.
